Law office · e-commerce and compliance

Legal compliance that doesn’t hurt your sales.

I help businesses avoid regulatory risk: from marketing communication, through dark patterns, to compliance procedures your team actually follows.

Dark patterns

Where persuasion ends and risk begins.

Regulators are looking ever more closely at interfaces and sales processes that steer consumer decisions. I check which of their elements can be defended and which need to change.

False urgency

Countdown timers and “only 2 left” messages that don’t reflect reality.

Pre-ticked add-ons

Insurance, subscriptions and consents added to the basket without a clear action by the customer.

Hard-to-cancel

Two clicks to buy, ten clicks to cancel a subscription.

Misleading prices and promotions

Discounts calculated from an inflated price, no lowest price from the last 30 days, poorly designed price tags.

Hidden costs

Fees revealed only at the last step of the order.

Asymmetric choices

“Accept” front and centre, “Reject” hidden or harder to click: in consents, subscriptions and offers.

Services

From your shop’s interface to company-wide compliance.

01

Dark patterns audit

A review of the purchase path, basket, banners, newsletter and cancellation process. A report with recommendations ranked by risk level.

02

Shop documents and processes

Terms and conditions, privacy policy, withdrawal, complaints, price and promotion disclosures. Compliant with the law and clear to customers.

03

Business compliance

Policies, procedures, registers and training tailored to the size of your business, so compliance works day to day, not just in a binder.

04

Dealing with regulators

Support with requests, inspections and proceedings before consumer protection authorities. A calm, well-prepared position and documentation.

How I work

Three steps, no legal jargon.

1

Call and scope

I get to know your shop or business, its key processes and concerns. We agree on what to review and the timeline.

2

Review and analysis

I check interfaces, documents and procedures. I describe each risk in plain language and assess how serious it is.

3

Recommendations and rollout

You get specific changes to make and, if needed, I support your team in implementing them.

About

A lawyer who understands business.

My name is Piotr Glabisz. I am an attorney-at-law (radca prawny) and an Approved Compliance Officer, and I previously practised as an advocate (adwokat). I focus on regulation and compliance, primarily in consumer protection. I most often work with businesses, brick-and-mortar and online shops, the restaurant industry and artists. I have advised leading businesses, including operators of brands such as KFC, Broaster Chicken, Starbucks, Pizza Hut and Burger King.

I help businesses run marketing and sales without unfair commercial practices, copyright infringement or unauthorised use of a person’s image. I translate legal requirements into specific changes in customer communication, checkouts and procedures, supporting marketing, e-commerce and sales teams. I draft and negotiate contracts: retail space leases, IT agreements, licensing and franchise agreements, including in international projects.

Let’s check whether your shop is safe.
